Sembly also ships iOS and Android apps that record in-person conversations, not just review notes after the fact. Sembly’s plan structure changed on March 1, 2026. Basic runs $17 per month for a single user, with unlimited meetings, five hours of media upload, and one year of history; annual billing drops it to roughly $10 per month. Pro is $29 per user per month (about $20 annually) for up to 40 users and adds the AI documents and insights layer plus two years of history. MAX is $39 per user per month (about $30 annually) for up to 500 users, with more AI artifacts and unlimited history. Enterprise is custom.

The bigger change is at the free end. The old free Personal plan became a limited “Basic free trial” — existing free users were migrated, and the trial mode is capped tightly enough that independent reviewers describe it as just enough to test the app once or twice. It works without a credit card, but it is no longer a standing free plan you can park on indefinitely. For individuals the $17 Basic tier is fair value; on Pro and MAX the per-user cost adds up quickly at team scale, though the annual discount of roughly 30% softens it.

Sembly processes all meeting audio through its cloud infrastructure. The company offers data encryption and standard security practices, but the privacy model is the one common to cloud meeting assistants: every conversation is uploaded, processed, and stored on external servers. Sembly.ai now makes the most sense for professional-services and client-facing teams — consultants, agencies, sales and delivery teams — who need conversations to become deliverables. If your bottleneck is drafting the proposal, the project plan, or the status report after the call, Semblian 2.0 is doing work that most note-takers leave to you. Project managers and team leads who track commitments across many meetings also benefit from the cross-meeting chat and task layer. Where Sembly still trails the field is raw transcription: speaker recognition can wobble on large calls, and there is no custom vocabulary support, so accuracy-critical or jargon-heavy use cases may want a more specialized tool.
